Beauty in white
Saturday was a great day. Why so? Finally, i manage to shoot this beauty in white. It is one of a kind and i love it very much. The pouring rain in the morning almost brought our hopes down but didn't stop us to wait for it to stop. We met up and had breakfast at old town (thanks TK for the breakfast). We went for car wash and headed to several places; looking for a suitable place to shoot. We end up at Gertak Sanggul. No doubt it is not perfect, but it was still a good place to shoot. We were under the hot sun snapping away while asking the car owner to shift the car to multiple positions. Thanks to LW for the patience and bringing the model out. After shooting, we headed to mamak for lunch and shared our photos.

Rayne
This post is a little late as my laptop was down and sent for rebuilt. I finally got it back after 1 week, re-install the software and work on this album. Besides the laptop problem, i was also busy and tied up in other stuff. YN organized this photoshoot few weeks back at a showroom that is fully designed and furnished. It was a nice venue to shoot. Also, thanks to Rayne for being the model for the day.

UNESCO World Heritage Celebration - Georgetown
A few weeks back, it was the celebration of 1st anniversary Georgetown UNESCO World Heritage Site. There were a lot of events throughout the weekend around the street of harmony-heritage zone. I was there earlier before the events start as i wanted to avoid the crowd. I was actually focusing on Cheah Kongsi since i am also a Cheah. I also took some shots of the temples around the area. I did not take photos of the actual event as i was too short to snap anything due to surrounded by the huge crowd.

Visit to Penang Hill
It has been some time since i last update my blog. I have been lazy and been tied up with some stuff lately. Anyway, i went to visit Penang Hill a couple of weeks back with my friends for a survey. The weather didnt look good with hazy and cloudy sky. I dont have much photos here as it was raining and we left the place earlier than expected. We did not finish exploring due to the rain. Forget to mention, thanks to Ad and IL for the nice breakfast treat. It has been some time since i last went up to Penang Hill. Anyway, below are some of the photos that i manage to get.

Visit to Sg. Sedim Tree Top Walk
Last weekend my college friends suggested to go to sg.sedim. Initially we plan to go on sun and end up going on sat. It was raining cats and dogs since fri nite. When i woke up in the very early morning, it was still raining and i thought that plans will be called off. We went ahead with our plans hoping that the rain will stop when we reach there. We stop by Chai Leng Park for breakfast and head towards sg.sedim. Throughout the journey, the sky doesnt look promising in fact was getting worst than when we were at Kulim town. Finally we were there and it was still raining. Anyway, the rain didnt stop us and it finally stop. We started the tree top walk and by the time we finish, we could see clear blue sky and the bright sunshine. We left for lunch at a nearby place then we head down to Kulim town. It was there that i tasted cendol with pulut. It was a tiring trip as we all woke up very early. Thanks to Wong and SSien for the meals and organizing the trip.

Everyday life in Penang
Few weeks back, a few of us planned to do some shooting around campbell street. The initial plan was for the postcard competition but i was there just to shoot for fun and expose myself to more photoshooting. We had breakfast at the the famous shop that sells roti bakar and wander around the street to shoot. Half way through the photoshoot, i felt a little sick and was not in the mood to shoot. Therefore, i dont really have much photos.

Basketball friendly match
My best friend have asked me to be her "la la toay" to support her fiance-to-be's basketball match. I agreed to go with her since i can also take the opportunity to do some photoshooting. Well, i know that the photos are not that closed up and nice as i dont have an external flash or a better zoom lense to support this fast paced basketball match. Furthermore, i dare not step my foot near to the court having the fear that the ball has no eyes and the players were not able to stop on time as they running in full speed. Moving objects are blur as my shutter speed is not fast enough compare with the moving speed. I tried to adjust the shutter speed but it makes my photos darker when its at a faster shutter speed. Anyway, it is another exposure for me.

Pinang Peranakan Mansion
It was still early when we finished shooting the jetty. We headed to Pinang Peranakan Mansion since Jonsern have not shot there before. It was my first time there and so we paid and went in busy photoshooting. There was actually a tour guide that explains everything in the mansion and the history of the mansion. However, i was busy photo shooting that i didnt follow the group with the guide. It was another good experience for me. We left the mansion and Jonsern dropped me back to the jetty to get my car. Least did i know that someone parked the car right in front of my car blocking my way (only way) out. I tried to ask around and people claim that cars parked in the middle should not have their handbrakes engaged. Sadly, that car was. I waited until the person came to take the car. Let's see what the mansion has for us...

Chew Jetty
Last saturday, YN planned to shoot the sea. I invited Jonsern to join us. After discussion, we decided to change the plan as there wont be clear blue sky to shoot at and photos wont look nice with the hazy background. Therefore i asked Jonsern to suggest a place. He suggested the Clan jetty since he has never shot there before. I cant recall when was the last time i was at the Clan jetty. I suppose i must be too young to remember. Anyway, we met up, parked our cars and we headed for Chew jetty, the famous one. Let's see what the jetty have for us.
YN and I went to visit Jonsern at his office last week and seek his help on how to get the autoviewer running in blogspot. However, it does not seem to be workable as we do not have our own file server. As such, Jonsern recommended us to use picasaweb slideshow and it is very much simpler.

Let's meet Adeline
It was 2 weeks ago when Adeline was in town for the weekend. I suggested that we should go for photo shoot and she can be my model. I was so excited and happy when she agreed. It was such a nice day for photo shooting as there was clear blue sky (now is hazy sky) .

Penang Floral Festival 2009
There were so many events over the weekend and yet there were people everywhere. Since my friends were all tied up with other events, i decided to drop by botanical garden for the Penang Floral Festival 2009. When i saw cars parked along the roadside far far away from botanical garden, i wanted to turn back and head home thinking that i wont be able to get a car park near enough. Then i thought, since i am already there, why dont i just try my luck and head back if i really fail to find a place to park. I did find a spot by the road side which is illegal but well, RELA people were there and so i guess it is just fine :p I didnt get much photos as most of them has barricade surrounding them. Anyway, it is still a opportunity to learn and explore :)

Switch World 2009
My friend YN informed me about this event and i tag along with him for this event. There is actually a photography contest for this event and the place was packed with cameramen. Not to mention that i was attacked by other cameras multiple times. Most often, their external flash will be hitting my head as i am surrounded by them. I dont have an external flash and quite a lot of my shots were overexposed due to surrounding flashlight. But it was indeed a good opportunity for me to learn to shoot.

National Horse Show 2009
This is the first time i heard of such event. Where have i been? It was a good opportunity for me to practice more photoshooting and i tag along with my friend YN. The place was super packed and mainly with children. Although there are other events occuring on the same date, the crowd is still huge. I did not have much photos as children were running around, knocking me here and there (especially when i have my bulky camera bag around) and busy blocking the view without knowing or should i say care that i was about to take a photo. The clock tower was presented to the Penang Turf Club by Cheah Tek Thye Esq. in the year 1902

Practical training with Boxster
With so much disappointment from my previous wedding shots under the dim lighting, i consulted my friend YN for help. He suggested that we should go to some place with dim lighting to see what went wrong and what could improve the photos. He suggested to go G-hotel since its a good place with dim lighting. I went there without having an idea what should i shoot for training. As i walk towards the lobby, i was excited to see such a beautiful model for me to shoot. Boxster was there at the right time and the right place. Who is Boxster? Check her out below. *Note: Thanks YN for all the time and effort*

My very first photoshoot
I finally bought myself the Nikon D60 that comes with kit lens 18-55mm VR. I used to the word finally as some of my friends may know, i have been saying that i wanted to get one but kept giving myself a reason to postpone it. Once i decided to get the camera, i make sure that i get it on time for my cousin's wedding which is on 31st May. Below are some of the photos of my very first photo shoot using my brand new D60. My very first model is my beloved pet rabbit. I still need to work on photo composition. Feel free to drop me comments.
Dont disturb me, let me focus on my food... ready, get set, GO !!
